Villa Josephine is a very old building dating back over 300 years and is a listed building. Thanks to its slightly elevated position, there is no oppressive heat here. This makes the stay very pleasant even in the height of summer.
With its 3 bedrooms, the villa can comfortably accommodate up to 8 guests, allowing you to relax in peace and quiet despite the hustle and bustle of the coast.
On the ground floor there is a large kitchen with a cooking island and cosy dining area
for culinary enthusiasts and great evenings, as well as an additional living room with sofa bed and a separate bedroom. Since both rooms, as well as the entire house, have a view of the sea, nature has picturesquely ensured that even the sleepiest romantic among you will be awakened. The large bathroom for these two rooms, with two washbasins, shower and bathtub with distant views, is located on the pool level.
A covered external staircase (to be considered if you have small children - due to the risk of falling) leads to the upper living area. Here you will find a large living room with a small kitchenette. In addition to a bathroom, there is a second bedroom on the other side of the living room. Parts of the stone wall have been left visible in both rooms. These walls provide protection and enable a restful, deep sleep.
There is a loggia on the terrace so that al fresco dining is possible in small intimate settings up to larger groups. The spacious pool with counter-current system offers an infinity view of the sea and space for 8 comfortable sun loungers. The lavishly landscaped garden can be used to relax and enjoy yourself and there is a table tennis table and various other play equipment on the lowest level.
Villa Josephine is simply a dream house which you will enjoy with all your senses, whether you want to relax, enjoy the pool, the wonderful views and the good cuisine, or whether you are adventurous, the unique location of the house offers something for all interests. Villa Josephine is located in the small village of Rukavac, a place where the mountain air of Uka and the sea scent of Opatija blend harmoniously. The proximity to the sea is ideal for short or long swimming trips. A trip to Rijeka (12km) is also interesting. The exciting, contradictory, fascinating city has a lot to offer as the European Capital of Culture 2020.
Trieste is nearby (approx. 60km) and can be wonderfully combined with a trip through Istria, as well as to Crikvenica, the island of Krk and many other hotspots in the Kvarner Bay.
Opatija, Volosko and beyond: Lovran, Moscenicka Draga and many other great destinations lie at your feet.
Of course, the whole of Istria is also unique, with countless exciting excursion destinations.
